Upside Down 2
ᘔ is a Canadian Aboriginal syllabics letter that looks like a 2 on its head.
The digit 2 curls over the top and sweeps down into a flat base. Rotate it and you get a Z-like shape with the curl at the bottom. The Unicode character ᘔ (U+1614, Canadian Syllabics Carrier Ju) has that outline closely, so it became the usual flipped 2. A plain capital Z is the easy fallback on a calculator or in plain text.

Where you will see ᘔ
People paste ᘔ into flipped years and the number rows in bios. Because it comes from the syllabics block, very old fonts may show a box instead of the glyph, and nobody remembers how to type it, which is why a copy button helps.

Good to know
Is ᘔ a number?
No. It is a syllabics letter that is borrowed for its shape, so spreadsheets and phone dialers will not read it as the digit 2.
All the flipped numbers are listed on the numbers page, or type a whole sentence into the upside down text generator.
